Long-Term Rental – City of Imperial Beach Permits
Posted By jseaton on March 17, 2023
As some owners have learned, the permit process was placed on hold for many residents who are long term renting their units by the City of Imperial Beach. Management has been communicating with the City of Imperial Beach and has learned that the previous Imperial Beach Inspector provided incorrect information and has since been corrected.
In an effort to ensure that Homeowners and the Association are following the requirements set forth by the City of Imperial Beach, Management has included the information provided by the City of Imperial Beach referencing “How to Register” and possible fines that may be assessed to Owners by the City of Imperial Beach for all units not incompliance. Please see revised information below and attached.
Short-Term Rental units do not need to provide a secondary permit. Only one (1) permit is required for both Long-Term and Short-Term Rentals as updated and referenced below/attached.
- If you currently are leasing out your unit long-term or plan to lease your unit out for thirty-one (31) days or longer; a Rental Business License (RBL) is required; (per the City of Imperial Beach)
- To be renewed yearly.
- Photocopy of RBL to be provided to Management.
- Letter of approval is not required from HOA.
- If you currently are leasing out your unit short-term or plan to lease your unit out for any period less than thirty-days (30); a short-term rental (STR) permit is required.
- To be renewed yearly.
- Letter of approval required from HOA.
All required permits must be received by Management no later than 5:00P.M. on Friday, March 31, 2023. A list of all long-term and short-term units will be provided to the City of Imperial Beach following the above referenced deadline.
Thank you to those who have submitted the permits or proof of permits and for your continued patience. We apologize for the inconvenience.
